On Thursday, April 20, 2017, almost all of the Brothers of the District of France gathered together at the seminary in Flavigny for a recollection and celebrated the one-hundredth birthday of our dear Brother Pierre Laurençon - one of whose sons is a former District Superior of France.
A Solemn High Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated by Fr. Christian Bouchacourt, District Superior of France for the Society of St. Pius X, followed by a festive meal crowned by a magnificent birthday cake, which delighted the childlike heart of the ageless centenarian.
The first goal of the Society Brothers, who consecrate themselves to God in the religious life, is the glory of God, their own sanctification, and the salvation of souls. Their entire lives and all their actions are offered to God through Our Lord, especially at the holy altar of Mass.
The specific goal of the Society Brothers is to help the priests in all their ministries, be it by relieving them of material tasks or participating more directly in their apostolate, in the chapels, schools, or missions. They make religious vows that unite them more closely to the Divine Master.
