Group led by Father Daniel Couture, Superior of the district of Canada for the Society of Saint Pius X
The Society of Saint Pius X, District of Canada, organizes this pilgrimage from Lourdes to Écône in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Saint Pius X Society by Mgr Marcel Lefèbvre in 1970. During our three-day stay in Lourdes, we will join the International Pilgrimage of Christ the King organized by the Society on October 24, 25 and 26. The group will then take the road to Rocamadour, Sainte Baume, and Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette, passing through various lesser-known pilgrimage sites and arriving in Écône in time to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Society on November 1st, 2020.
The cost for this pilgrimage is currently estimated at $ 3,300 CAD, for a departure from Montreal, and based on double occupancy and a minimum of 30 participants. This amount includes the flight from Montreal to Toulouse, and a return from Geneva to Montreal, with Air Canada. The land portion of the trip, excluding air tickets, is $ 2,080 CAD. The single supplement is set at $ 450 CAD, but there are a limited number of rooms at this price (first come, first served). The price is based on the exchange rate in effect on December 10, 2019 and may be adjusted if there is a significant change between now and the final payment.
Flights from other cities in Canada or the United States can be arranged, and additional charges will be determined at the time of booking.
The price includes: direct flights from Montreal to Toulouse, and return from Geneva, with Air Canada; accommodation for 11 nights in double occupancy, in a religious hostel (one night) and hotels from 2 to 4 stars, with daily breakfast and most dinners; a lunch meeting on arrival in France; transfer from/to European airports; activities of the International pilgrimage of the Society of Saint Pius X in Lourdes on October 24, 25 and 26; coach transport from October 26 to November 3, from Lourdes to Geneva; the services of a group escort from Voyages Aqua Terra Sherbrooke; tips for drivers and taxes.
Two hotels do not offer evening meals, but there is a choice of restaurants nearby. These meals will be the responsibility of the pilgrims - see the $ sign in the itinerary.
By purchasing from a travel agency operating in Quebec, you are covered by the Compensation Fund for Clients of Quebec Travel Agents. This fund, administered by the Consumer Protection Office, covers any loss caused by the bankruptcy or the closure of a service provider.
The price does not include: difference in air fare from any departure point other than Montreal; passport or visa fees, lunch and snacks; three evening meals; beverages (including bottled water served with meals); laundry; certain tips (baggage handling, maids, waiters, etc.); telephones made from the hotel room and mini-bar; transport and visits not included in the program; souvenirs and other personal purchases.
A non-refundable $ 250 CAD deposit is required at time of booking. A second deposit of $ 750 is required by February 28, 2020 at the latest, which will bring the total amount of the deposit to $ 1,000. It is strongly recommended to book before March 2 as the price of the trip will be increased by $ 120 from March 2, 2020 and will therefore be $ 3,420. The deposit amount will however remain the same for bookings made after March 2, that is, a non refundable amount of $ 1,000. Finally, without enough bookings on March 2, the feasibility of the pilgrimage will also have to be reassessed.
The above prices are based on 30 participants and we estimate that it will take at least 20 firm bookings by March 2 to confirm the group, hoping for a minimum of 10 additional bookings before August 10, 2020. If the group does not reach 30 participants on this date, there will be a price increase before the final payment, based on the number of people registered (a maximum increase of $ 370). If the number of participants exceeds 35 people, there will be a reduction in the price of $ 50 per person. The final price adjustment will be made no later than August 15, 2020.
Final payment will be due on September 2, 2020. As long as there is availability in hotels, it will be possible to join the group after this date, but flights will have to be booked individually, at the daily rate.
Checks must be made out to Voyages Synergia. Credit card payments are accepted.
The penalties for cancellation of the trip by the participant are as follows:
- $ 250 non-refundable deposit;
- $ 500 fee for cancellation between February 28, 2020 and May 31, 2020;
- $ 1,000 fee for cancellation before September 2, 2020;
- 100% non-refundable after final payment, September 2, 2020.
A fee of $ 100 CAD applies for any change of name before September 2, 2020, fee of $ 250 for a change of name between September 2 and October 14. No name change allowed 7 days before departure.
Your travel documents will be emailed to you no later than 2 weeks before departure.
