4th glorious mystery: the Assumption
Fruit of this mystery: the grace of a good death

We were created from the earth. But the earth is not our mother. The earth will one day be our tomb, in which we will rot. But the earth will never be our mother.

We have only one mother, and that is the Most Blessed Virgin Mary.

Why is that the case? Pope Saint Pius X answers us: "Mary is the mother of God. So she is our mother."

God is Father, Son and Holy Ghost. There is only one Son of God by nature: Our Lord Jesus Christ. This Son wanted to be born of the Virgin Mary who, from then on, became the Mother of God. In doing so, she also becomes our spiritual mother to all of us sinners who have been redeemed by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, true Son of God. We become adopted sons of God and then we have Mary as our Mother.

So we have only one mother, Notre Dame. The earth is not our mother because we are not her adopted children and she has not redeemed us. Only Christ the Savior, Our Lord Jesus Christ, redeemed us from our sins. But we must accept this salvation by confessing our sins and by the daily conversion of our lives. Then we will live as true children of God. Then we will live in the likeness of the risen Christ. And the Apostle Saint Paul warns us: "If then you have risen with Christ, seek the things from above, where Christ dwells, sitting at the right hand of God; love the things from above, not the things of the earth: for you are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, your life, appears, then you too will appear with him in glory. " (Col. 3:1-4)
