Retreat given by Father Selegny; general bursar. Rome rejects conditions of Bishop Fellay, refuses to consider doctrine and offers the Society a practical agreement. Changes in the canadian district. Possible priory in Vernon, BC. Various summer events.

In these relations with Rome and with offers of a practical solution, rumors and other false information circulates because we pay attention to it. In this letter the question as to why we have relations with Rome at all is answered. During Lent pray and offer up sacrifices not only for the Society but for the Church.

The crux of this criisis is the replacement of the supernatural with the natural; that is, it is a battle against naturalism. Now, the fight for Tradition is a supernatural battle and that necessitates supernatural weapons.

November 2000 - District Superior's Letter

30th anniversary of the Society. An important apostolate of prayer for priests is being promoted and you are strongly encouraged to join. Priests are in serious need of your prayers. Mass stipends are now 15.00$. The spirit of Advent is one of truly preparing for Our Lord's coming at Christmas.

October 2000 - District Superior's Letter

Fr. Violette replaces Fr. Emily as district superior. SSPX pilgrimage to Rome a great success and spurs new talks with Rome. A declaration "Dominus Jesus" has been published by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith; it is flawed. Pope surrounded by 1500 bishops entrusts himself to Mary but doesn't consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart.
